Cheryl 's Story
OK... I just erased a big long rant about a lot of things that nobody needs to know and only matter to me... Whoever read it, please erase it from your mind! I'm still 'crazy after all these years' LOL, but not INSANE!
Here's the scoop... I was married the first time in 1971 (too young) and had a wonderful son named Heath who is now 36 with 2 beautiful daughters. I divorced him in 1981 and remarried in 1982, had a daughter; Nicole, then a son, Joey. Nicole is now 26 and is the mother of a 5 1/2 month old GORGEOUS baby boy named Thomas. My 2nd husband was abusive, so I finally got up the nerve to leave him in 1991, and we were divorced in 1992. My kids were only 2 and 5, and we were living in Woodbridge at the time. He was ordered to pay a large sum for child support, especially since i hadn't worked in 10 years (he wouldn.t let me)... He never paid anything unless I begged him, and even then, it wasn't even CLOSE to enough. The house was lost, as he refused to sell it (it was in both our names), and I ended up with squat. He's a sneaky East Haven italian who was in the wholesale car business..had everything in someone else's name..etc. I had a hell of a struggle supporting my kids. Finally, i walked into Executive Dodge in Wallingford and got a job selling cars in 1993. I've been in the...Expand for more
business ever since... Now I'm the Sales Director at Affordable Auto by Meriden Hyundai in (obviously), Meriden. I've lived here for 5 years.
After the 2nd divorce, i had a really crazy life for a long time. It's taken me years to "grow up"... I did have a few semi-serious relationships, none of which were ever going to go anywhere... For some reason, I attract younger guys who are a little crazy... like bikers and musicians. I had a 2 year long relationship with a guy named Billy, who was the lead singer of a hair/metal band, rode a candy-apple red Soft Tail and was 15 years younger than me. There were 2 or three other musicians along the way, including the drummer of Steppenwolf and Larry Uzzell, the lead singer of Nantucket. Then there was the NY City Hell's Angel who shall remain nameless for obvious reasons...That was 4 years! So now, here i sit, alone and okay, I guess. Kinda feels like my life's over... it was one crazy ride.
I always wanted to be a singer when I grew up. My family and friends thought that was a good idea. As it turns out, they were wrong.
If I'm going to work somewhere, I need to have my tea, candies, and cigs to be able to deal with the day-to-day.
